What does this mean? I understand that there were many factors leading to the Russian Revolution, but who were the 'rising social classes' in Russia at this time?

Revolutions start in univercities. If left to their own devices, most people would just happily carry on. However, the industrialisation process in Russia helped to develop a middle class. Once you have an educated, reasonably well funded class that may not, necessarily agree with the policies of the ruling class, you might be in for a rough ride.

If you look at the English Civil War, it was the middle class that lead the revolution. Cromwell was landed gentry, but not from the upper reaches. It might be fair to say that he was from the periods middle class.

Anyway, throw in a badly managed war, starvation at home and lots of other social issues, throwing a middle class (Who started the first revolution, before the counter revolution) and you have all of the main ingreadients for a right good punch up.

Sounds like a bit of a slogan. Marxist rabble rousing.
Practically the 'rising social classes' would have been the ones who took commercial and political advantage of the change from Monarchist to 'Marxist Intellectuals with Thug friends' rule.

i'm no longer likely to jot down an essay for you lol i'm only going to indicate out which you will desire to look on the historic past of the Russian Tsars as this is the actual key to the Revoultion, human beings weren't bursting into prominence they have been revolting against repression-they have been in very straightforward words hungry and adverse and neglected. look at how Nicholas I dealt with the 1st international conflict and how Alexandar II (i think of!) supposedly the Tsar Liberator became no longer lots of a liberator in any respect.
