The national standard is 20yrs, with the possibility of parole in 10yrs... if he stays out of trouble in prison he most likely will serve no more than 8yrs in a medium security prison...

Depends on what he was armed with, let's say it was a knife, he would probably get 5 to 10. Now if it was a gun it will be longer, about 10 to 20. Also, has he been arrested before for violent crimes? That also comes into play along with the deadly weapon enhancement charge which could lead to a life sentence.

Totally depends on 1st offense, state law, etc. what the weapon was gun or knife etc. Most likely he will serve over 1 year and a day but depending on the specific case scenario it can go up from there.

Should be never, he is a loser. With all of the free opportunities that the great U.S of A offers (food, housing and even cold hard cash) for the down and out, he should rot in prison. How long before he would have said "I didn't mean to kill him, the gun accidentally went off"

Probably 5 years maximum. If he behaves in prison, he'll get out on parole only serving half of that.

It depends on his previous record. It also depends on if anyone was hurt in the robbery or how much was the damage.
