What does it mean when "Adjudication is Withheld" on a felony burglary charge?

Adjudication Withheld or Deferred Adjudication as we have it here in Texas simply means that a defendant is placed on probation without having his crime (sentence) adjudicated. If he successfully completes his period of probation and all related and required acts such as attending classes, making restitution, completing drug rehab, etc, then he will have no conviction on his record.
