If you injected it and it swelled up while you were injecting then you didn't get below the hide. The needle needed to go deeper. If it swelled after the injection-hours to days- it could be that it got trapped in the muscle. When we inject our livestock we inject in muscle and rub the medicine in pretty hard. If it doesn't go down, I would call a vet. You could always call and ask the vet tech, they would probably give you a good idea of what it is.

don't think to m uch of nothing. my son gets a knot sometimes when he get shot, his doctor said because his muscles weren't relaxed
