Why cant aircraft fly directly from the west coast of Canada or the US to Asia or to the east? Why do all aircraft always fly the long way from the east around the world?

Aircraft fly westbound from the the US and Canadian west coast to Asia every day. I don't quite understand your question.

You ask why they can't, when in fact they already do.

I don't know of any flights to Asia going eastbound that don't make at least one intermediate stop. For example I know that Air India flies from New York to India heading east, but they make at least one intermediate stop (e.g. London or Frankfurt).

The reason for that is the airline can get additional traffic from the European cities without having to dedicate an additional aircraft to the route.

But generally the quickest and least expensive way to get from the US or Canada to Asia is westbound over the Pacific.

Air Canada flies from Vancouver to Asia (westbound).

And a number of carriers do the same from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.

That´s not true! I´ve flown on Continental from Newark non-stop to Hong Kong, and also taken the non-stop flight from Newark to Beijing. The flighst are loooooooong but at least you have no stop overs. Also, I know Singapore Airlines flies from NY to Singapore non-stop, making this flight the longest commercial flight.

Wow......this fairly does blow me away. I even may supply you a large kudos for being so damn reliable and resilient. i'd have hung myself after listening to really this variety of lame examples of what you would call "music". That is not true. Many flights go from lax and vancouver eastwards. For example, new zealand airways flies from lax to new zealand; cathay pacific flies from lax to hong kong. There are many others.
