red eyes
shortness of breath
increased risk of cancer
short term memory loss
lowered sperm count
erectile dysfunction
birth defects
increased chances of miscarriage in women
difficulty becoming pregnant
depression
increased chance of mental problems eg paranoid schyzophrenia
potential jail time
monsters in your closet.
Keep in mind the chances of all these things increase with prolonged usage. I have not tried it. I had to do an assignment on it is high school. I don't really have a problem with people doing it. The effects of weed are not that different from the effects of alcohol, except it makes you slower. Some people are capable of using it in small amounts and others are not capable of controlling the addiction. It is all dependant on the individual.
I forgot to add ( thankyou Sangre Y Leche) that these are potential side effects and do not necessarily happen to everyone who uses. The risks are increased with very heavy usage but many people with moderate levels of usage do not display any of the above.

To Dream a few answers above me, I smoke marijuana for almost 20 years and I do have a decent job! Infact, besides my 32-hours-a-week job I also study to be a counseller and I am a professional dreamworker. I studied a few years of gestaltpsychology as well. So, don't say that I am not capable of living a normal healthy life because my brain is damaged from marijuana.
My memory is excellent, no problems with that at all. In fact, I have a better memory then most people I know. That's not got anything to do with smoking pot, it's just me.
Anyway, the side effects to me:
- When I smoke too much, I come too much in my own bubble. I can feel slightly paranoia and insecure about myself.
- Concentration might get less when I smoke too much. This does not happen when I am mildly high.
- It can make me feel more restless, but then I already was untrestless. It makes the feeling stronger.
- It makes me lazy.
That's why I never smoke grass when I still have to be social, or active.

Those are the symptoms of smoking a very strong indica or indica dominant....and its completely normal, especially if she has just started smoking and isn't used to the numerous different effects. Marijuana is not all the same, some pot makes you sleepy, other pot makes you super hyper and goofy, and other pot can give you intense body highs...its really all about preference....
