first check if the files in your computer show their extensions...

if no....first make the change....

open MY COMPUTER --> TOOLS --> FOLDER OPTIONS --> VIEW --> check the Hide extensions for known types

now u can seet the name as xxx.ppt

now rename this file by right clicking ( or by just pressing F2) as xxx.pps ...

thats it....next time u double click the file......u can view the show directly....

.ppt --> power point presentation

.pps --> power point show

Have a nice day.......

Open powerpoint, click open, open the presentation you want to view, you will be able to view the slides of the presentation. Further you can save the presentation file as a .ppt instead of a .pps file which is present format in which it has been saved. By saving the presentation in .ppt format, you will always open the slides of the presentation when you click on the file.

Uhh...You can double click on the file. You can't open presentation which you save in PowerPoint(ppt) format without using the software. You have to do it manually.

What you did was pretty much th enormal way how we use to view ppt.

possibly attempt proper clicking the flexibility factor and click print? or you may receive a loose powerpoint viewer or get the OpenOffice set that is loose and well matched with note, excel and powerrpoint formats
