I don't know if it's "important" compared to other things you might do with and for your children, but it's VERY educational and can be a lot of fun! :)

As for a list...

Arsenic And Old Lace
The Wizard Of Oz
The Best Years Of Our Lives
City Lights

for a more modern classic I like Little Big Man

Classic films are fine, but I'd rather expose my kids to classic books. For example, "To Kill a Mockingbird" is an excellent movie, but the book has so much more depth.

To Kill A Mockingbird is good for a high school kid who is also reading the book, most classics that are books, I would recommend, but would bore most children, but I would say Free Willy, The Goonies, Home Alone, Star Wars, just movies that are good and that they would actually be interested in... different for all kids.

sometimes I like watching them. It takes my emotional pain away. sometimes I write poems about pain and how pointless life is when watching them. good luck, if thier is any left.
