To test your faith. If something bad happens to you and you still worship and praise God, then you have good faith. If something bad happens to you and you question God, then your faith isn't as strong as it needs to be. There is a reason for everything good and bad that happens, whether we know why it happens or not.

There could be many reasons. Perhaps going through tha "bad things" will help the "good person" become an even better person. Perhaps the rest of us will learn something by seeing how adversity is handled. Maybe it is a test like Job went through in the Bible. When I am tested I often say "why me?". Perhaps a better response would be "why not me?" because I am not perfect.

We are not put on this earth to be perfectly happy all the time. Earth is a school, we learn and grow, therefore bad things as the good things, are essential for our evolution as concious beings.

Because "good" and "bad" are human fabrications with no definition... and thus don't exist in real terms.
Bad things don't happen to good people.
Unfavourable things happen to people favoured by society.
Or to put it another way: Sh!t happens. There is no pattern nor order to it.

(Quran)[11:10] And if We make man taste of mercy from US, and then take it away from him, verily he is despairing, ungrateful.
(Quran)[11:11] And if after an adversity has touched him, We let him taste prosperity, he will assuredly say, 'Gone are the ills from me.' Lo! he is exultant, boastful,
(Quran)[21:36] Every soul shall taste of death; and We test you with evil and good by way of trial. And to US shall you be returned.
Quran[30:34] And when an affliction befalls people, they cry unto their Lord, turning sincerely to Him; then, when He has made them taste of mercy from Him, lo! a section of them associate partners with their Lord,
Quran[30:37] And when We make people taste of mercy, they rejoice therein; but if some evil befalls them because of that which their own hands have sent on, behold! they are in despair
Quran[30:42] Corruption have spread on land and sea because of what men's hands has wrought, that He may make them taste the fruit of some of their doings, so that they may turn back from
evil.
Quran[32:22] And most surely We will make them taste of the lesser punishment before the greater punishment, that they may return to US with repentance.

Bad things happen to everyone. It's just that no one cares if, for example, a hooker is murdered or robbed or raped. If that happened to someone's sainted mother, that's a different story.

because this is our life.... and in everybody's life there are good and bad things. I guess we have to leave behind that concept of "award" and "punishment", we live our life, those will come afterwards...
