Their theology is a much greater concern...
The underwear is quite weird though

They are promised to be a shield/protection from spiritual and physical "pit-falls". They are different because they aren't superstitous...they are of the Lord. They are a reminder of covenants we have made with the Lord.
Thanks for asking though.

Temple garments are not magic; they serve as a constant reminder of the sacred covenants we take in the temple with the Father in heaven. Through this constant reminder, the wearer can avoid the temptations if his mind stays in tune with the Lord.
Not all Mormons wear these garments, but those found worthy to enter a temple of the Lord.

For one, they are not superstitious. For two, they are SACRED. For three, they have strong symbolic meaning. Fourth, they are a REMINDER of the covenants made in the Holy Temple of God. Fifth, they can only "work" when the person who is wearing them is worthy, honest and true in his living standards and to the covenants he's made with God.
I know many who were worthy wearers of the Garment who's very lives were protected because of this. I personally know many who were not burned or recieved any injuries to the parts of their body where the Garment covered. This is not always the case. It protects spiritually as well. In order to have sex you have to remove this Garment. This is a warning that if it is not with the one to whom you are married to then it is very wrong. The Garment can be used as a Stop sign or a "red flag" of sorts to remind us to keep the Commandment's of God and keep the Holy Covenants made with God.
They remind us to pray, to keep ourselves healthy, to remain active in the Gospel, to help build the Kingdom of God on earth, to remain Holy and repent often when needed, and much, much more.

I once asked a spiritualist preacher what he thought of the power of cystals and runes. His reply was something like this. There is but one power, one protector, one God and he is God. objects are simply objects, whether thry are animate or not. Protection comes from faith. Faith takes you on a journey, down a path of a live that tries to live by God will. The only thing sacred is the temple of God which houses the spirit of our Lord. That temple is not built of wood and stone it is built of flesh and bone. That temple is you, and me, and everybody who accepts Christ as their savior and loves God.

Not in the literal sense. They are a reminder of sacred covenants made to the Lord. Remembering your promise to love and honor Him can lead to a spiritual protection. They also set standards for modesty.

Evil does not come from outside of the body; it comes from the heart. But such is their belief!

LOL I have never heard of such undergarments. Do they make farts smell like roses too, or just keep evil out? LOL

That'd be a bit difficult when technically "evil" is a human fabrication with no real definition.... i.e. it doesn't exist in real terms.
