Starting an essay with a quote is not a good idea unless you essay is about the meaning of the quote. If you writing about criminology find a quote about criminology and work it into your text to illustrate you point. You need to decide what your message is regarding your subject matter before you start writing!!!!

Hamlet was considering suicide or living when he said it, We could use it saying that the world sucks and maybe we just should not go on OR because the world sucks it is our obligation to go on and try to fix it by being the best person we can be

You start with a quote then ellaborate on it, or connect it with symbolism. FOr example:

John Smith

Professor Smith
