Red Fridays.

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing
Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support
our troops used to be called the "silent majority." We
are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for
God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We
are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends,
simply want to recognize that the vast majority of
America supports our troops. Our idea of showing
solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and
respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and
every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a
deafening message that ... every red-blooded American
who supports our men and women afar, will wear
something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United
States on every Friday a sea of red much like a
homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every
one of us who loves this country will share this with
acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will
not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it
will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is
on their side more than ever, certainly more than the
media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can
we do to make things better for you?" is ..."We need
your support and your prayers." Let's get the word out
and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear
something red every Friday.

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE!!

VERY INTERESTING??????
As a Canadian I applaud your enthusiastic efforts to show you support your troops abroad. You can join us Canadians, who have been wearing red on Fridays for quite some time, at least since earily summer '06 to support our troops over in Afghanistan. Oddly enough we called it "Red Friday" also.
It was started by the Canadian families, who have loved ones serving & dieing in Afghanistan. They chose RED, because it represents one of our prominent colors in the Canadian Flag to show how proud they are that Canada is trying to help the Afghanistan people live in a 'Taliban-free zone' country & keep terrorists like Bin Landen out, which in turn backs up the U.S. on the "War against Terror", which sent the Canadian troops to Afghanistan in the 1st place to support the U.S. after 9/11. Glad to see a good idea is spreading in your neck of the woods!
Glad to have you on board! Best of luck & safety to your troops too! May they return home soon, safe & sound.
"Shout out from your friendly Canuck neighbour" ! =)

I was not aware of the wearing of the red on Fridays. I talk to many who are in the military each week and have not heard anything from them either. I will be wearing the red on Friday from now on. As a vet of a very unpopular war I support those in uniform now and always.
To those who are Canadian that have been doing this for awhile for their troops thank you as well.

I don't support the war. But I do Support the TROOPS.
Thank you to all the troops that have risked their life no matter what part of the world your parents came from.

Already there! Got an email about 3 weeks ago and have had "Red Fridays" since. Agree or disagree with the war, every American should participate.

We've been wearing red to work on Fridays since getting an email last year! I don't agree with war, but I will support our soldiers who had to go.

Why red? I hope it's not to show support for the Republican Party.

Showing support for your troops goes WELL beyond any party affiliation. If it's in support of Republican ideals for being in Iraq, I don't won't. If red means valour & it's in support of the troops, I'll do it.

I've never heard about it, though. I'll have to look more into this.

You're kidding, right? You think if we all get together and wear the same color once a week, that it will do ANYTHING meaningful for our troops?

Of you want to support them, send them care packages. Visit their families and offer your help. Better yet, do your homework, and vote for the leaders who do the best job of supporting our troops through legislation that provides them what they need.

If you'd like to know if your representatives are supporting the troops, go here:

This is the website of Irag and Afghanistan Veterans of America. They have graded each Senator and Representative according to their voting record on how well they actually support troops through legislation. To calculate the Ratings, IAVA reviewed all legislation voted on in the Congress since September 11, 2001. For each piece of legislation that affected troops, veterans or military families, IAVA took a position either in support of, or in opposition to its passage. The letter grades were derived from the percentage of times that each legislator's vote matched the official IAVA stance. IAVA is a non-partisan, non-profit organization. These ratings were determined using a simple and transparent mathematical formula.

Bet you'll never guess who got mostly As and who got mostly Fs.

I'll wear red, only if it means we want them home, and the red is for the innocent blood of our troops.

Is the red to signify all the blood Americans have spilled
