I don't have a clue what the Qu'ran is, but how can any of you who believe in it KNOW IT'S TRUE and KNOW IT'S RIGHT. How do you come to know this? How do you come to accept it as absolute truth and direct from God?

Do you not believe that you can ask God directly if it be from Him? Do you not believe that He can answer your prayers and tell you what is right and what is wrong, what is truth and what is lie? Is this not even a possibility for any of you?

I believe that I don't have to look to science for proof. I don't have to see evidence of proof for something to be true. I think that if you feel in your mind and in your heart that something is true, and you've asked God to tell you if it is true or not, then that is how to know. Science is every changing. Man always changes. Why should I rely on science and man to know the truth? I will rely on my one and only true source to direct me to the truth: God and His Holy Spirit.

It is God words. God challenges people and Satan to come up with something similar like the Holy Qu`ran they can`t. Then, God challenges them to come up with only one Sura they can`t. Then God challenge them to come up with 10 lines they can`t.Then God challenge them to come up with only one verse they can`t. Why? It is God words .

And if you are in doubt as to that which We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like it and call on your witnesses besides Allah if you are truthful.
[Shakir 2:24] But if you do (it) not and never shall you do (it), then be on your guard against the fire of which men and stones are the fuel; it is prepared for the unbelievers.
[Shakir 2:25] And convey good news to those who believe and do good deeds, that they shall have gardens in which rivers flow; whenever they shall be given a portion of the fruit thereof, they shall say: This is what was given to us before; and they shall be given the like of it, and they shall have pure mates in them, and in them, they shall abide.

Each religion is based on a wholy book; the Judaism is based on the TORAH (the Old Testament), the Christians believe in OT and New Testament, and the Islam is based on the Quran.
All religions claim that their holy books are from GOD and are the ultimate truth.
Now logically how almighty GOD can give ultimate truth to three different books??? The three books are not the same. The only common truth revealed from these books is that : GOD is the creator of this world and there is only one GOD.
All the rest of the books concerning the religious ceremonies, and commands are different.
Now how can a simple man who wants to know what is the "only truth" ? what can he do?
My opinion is: To recognize what is the truth and if the truth comes from GOD or not, there is only one test to perform:
Which wholy book teaches for love, merci, justice, truth and which books preaches for destruction, vandalism, hatress, lyies
GOD can teach only love, forgiveness, merci, building and helping the poor and the widow. GOD cannot preach for hatress.
This are the only criteria which I can propose to check which books are wholy and contain the ONE truth, and which books are not.
It is also good to study and read all books in an open mind and objective view, then you may decide.
I propose that all religions should be unified to one GOD only, and to realize that GOD is beyond human feelings ; HE is not JEW, or Christian or Muslim. He is all the humanity. He is peace .

The Quran is the Book of God revealed to Muhammad through the chief angel Gabriel. After the passing of Muhammad, the Prophet of God, His followers recorded the holy verses through the memory of His wife and close disciples. The knowledge from that Book has created great saints, scholars, and known as the source of the present world civilization.
For precise consideration, you can read the Quran and other books concerning Muhammad, which are freely accessible on the Internet.

Thank you for this question.

Strictly speaking the Qur'an is not a book. It is the oral revelation that God gave to the Prophet Muhammad (saw) through the angel Jibril (Gabriel).

The Arabic book (mishaf) that we have to day is a written collection of these revelations. In Muhammad's (saw) time people memorized what he said were the revelations and some of them wrote them down. After his (saw) death people began to worry that the exact words would be forgotten over time (see sura 'Asr). So they collected all that had been written down and through a rigorous process agreed on what we have in writing today. This was done within the lifetime of those that had actually been there when the revelations were made, and all that had heard the words directly from Muhammad (saw) had to agree.

"Translations" of the book into different languages have been made, but because of the problems of translation they can only be called "interpretations" and are not precise.

As for the rest of your question. My belief stems from my personal faith and experiences and from deep spiritual study.

And Allah knows best.

Peace and Blessings,

Salim

Well the Quran is the holy book of the islamic religion...it is like the guidelines of our religion and also contains historical stories about our prophets and religion in general. It was written by one of Prophet mohammed (PBUH)'s sahaba (friends). We believe that God sent down the angel Gabriel who recited pieces of the Quran to the prophet. then the prophet recited it to his friends who wrote it down. the Quran has not once been edited or changed ever since it came down. We know its true and right for two reasons. a) a lot of things in the Quran actually make perfect sense and we realize if we follow the Quran, we are doing good both for ourselves and our God. secondly, all religions have beliefs, even so some are unexplainable, if u have strong faith, u believe, despite others not understanding, now we muslims believe the Quran is right and true...that's all we need if we're faithful and true ourselves...

Why don't you know read the translation of Quran. That will answer lot of your questions. Listening to people on this board who have nothing but hatred for Islam is not the way to get a clue about Islam (or any religion). Also read the prophets way of life and you will be amazed. FYI Al-Qaeda is an extremist group and does not represent Islam.

Satan is very smart and to take mankind away from the truth he has brought many false teachings to many. Be very careful because many books have been written to sound like the Bible. They say things like an Angel told them to write, or an Angel from God said this or that. Jesus Christ warned that this very thing would happen. In the Bible it says Satan has the power to appear as an Angel of light, and not to marvel at that, because even his Ministers have that power. Read the Bible for the answers you are looking for, because it is the only true word of God.

How do we know? The first word revealed from the Qur'an was: Read. This is the same advice I would give to you. Until and unless you read it, you will never receive a convincing answer. Just pick it up, open it and read the first page or two... you don't have to read the whole book.

It's like if you've never eaten a banana in your life and you ask others to describe it, will you know how it tastes based on their description?
