lots of times we dont do or say things out of fear of rejection or judgement or whatever...sometimes its just our own fear that stops us and these are the things we usually end up wondering about and regretting...would you take the bull by the horns and do something that you might regret or not...or are you just happy to amble through a life full of what ifs?

We don't regret the things we do.More likely we regret those things we didn't do or act on. Fear of failure, rejection or looking foolish are the biggest obstacles in our way. Sitting on the sidelines and not taking chances/risks is a safe but bland way to navigate through life. The payoffs to taking chances usually outway the price of rejection/failure. Sure sometimes we fall down and have to pick ourselves back up but what is life without a few scratches and bumps. Why would you want to go through life pristine and spotless like some collectors automobile locked up in a garage and never taken onto the road for a spin.
Do you want to 80 y/o on your deathbed wondering "if only I did this or said that"? This is not a dress rehersal for something later. Life is now.

Yes i have tried that before and yes i took the bulls by the horns and i still regreted what i did, but i felt good in a way.I guess it all dependes on the circumstance of the situation because there are some things that are not just worth the risk ;so at that point or situation i think i will go with the if part of life.

Most times i think we don't even have to ask if , because it is in almost every situations that we will be able to tell what will happened after we take the bold step or take the bull by the horns and then again it can be a 50/50 situation, but in what ever way we should be able to tell what the end product will be and if we can deal with or what satisfaction we will be deriving from reacting in whatever way or whatever option we take.

I never thought of regretting things that could of been if I had taken things by the horns as you say. I usually regret things that I have done wrong or messed up but doing something. I guess I have those regrets and now a whole new path to take in my life, I am tired of the what ifs. Thanks for your question this morning it really made me think more about regrets than I already have been because of a line in a TV show last night. This character in a show said "you are my favorite regret" and that alone made me think of some regrets as not such bad things but things that didn't just work out for some reason. Anyway I ramble but you did make my mind wake up!

I always take the bull by the horns. Perhaps sometimes it has led me to think it was the wrong decision, but if I didn't try it, then I wouldn't know!

For example, I left a life with my friends and family to move closer to where my partners work is. It was the best decision ever, I still see my friends and still talk to my family daily. I would prefer not to live with regrets, after all, they haven't made a machine to go back in time yet!

Experiencing regret is the trade off to having a conscience. You can't possibly live your life without *some* regret because you can *never* get things 100% right. I'd like to meet someone who could prove me wrong on this.

I want my life to be full, I want a large family a nice big house, a couple of kids, a loving wife a loyal dog and a well paid job.
I want to see my grand children when I am old and have loads of fun.

All I ever regret is wasting my time in relationships that have gone nowhere !!!

Cynical Answer: If My life is full of regret, to the point that there's no room left to even think about the idiocy of our govt, sounds like a fair deal.

Romantic Answer:
Watch Notting Hill - when you get to the scene where hugh is explaining "she told me that she was just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her"
Pay particular attention to the reaction of the MAD WELSHMAN - not as mad as you might think.
