I always do.
The last one I paid to someone was two days ago. I was in town and this lady had the most beautiful hair, so I told her. She was in her mid fifties, and I could tell she was having a bad day- she had lots of bags and looked tired. However, her hair was gorgeous and I just had to tell her.
I think it's nice to hear something like that, it really lifts you. For example, I bought a poppy from an elderly war veteran. He told me I had the most dazzling smile and I was walking on air all day. I think more people should spread some goodness, and make a difference to someone else's day. You may not be able to change someone's life for the better, but a smile or a compliment can work wonders.

The last time I can remember was about a week ago (maybe more) when I ran into an old friend when I was out with my mates. She was a very big girl the last time I saw her and she had lost about 5 stone and looked really well, the first thing i said was she looked fantastic. That was the last time I paid anyone a genuine compliment that I think was appreciated.

A man I know had in the last six months put on a great deal of weight and it made him look awful, when I saw him yesterday he had lost it all and was back to his normal healthy weight. I told him he looked fabulous and he did. He was thrilled with the compliment.

Simply say "Thank You". I think it is showing respect to the person giving the compliment instead of "Countering" or undermining their compliment with "Hmmm..Nahh" or "I don't" It's almost an insult if you think about it. I would not continue to compliment someone if they countered with negative or opposing comments. It would tell me they feel my perspective or opinion is really not important or that it is inept in some way.

I saw someone yesterday I used to work with and they'd lost quite a bit of weight so I said they were looking trim. He looked pleased that someone had noticed.
