This local news station hired an actor to apply jobs as a mall Santa or seasonal mall photographer. The actor provided the name, address, and birthdate of convicted pedophiles when he applied, but was still hired because the employers didn't do a thorough background check.

I'm sure that a lot of employers inadvertently hire convicted pedophiles, due to failure to do background checks. I'm guessing that it's not just the malls who do this when they hire their Santas.

But, having said that, hiring a Santa for your mall is probably one job for which you'd definitely want to screen for pedophiles, being that he'll be having kids sitting on his lap and such.

I don't imagine that a pedophile in a Santa suit would do anything to a kid at a crowded mall, with all those people around. Still, protecting the kids is the most important thing.

Even convicted pedophiles have to make a living somehow -- but, of course, they should do it in a way that doesn't place them in contact with kids.

The first 'crimson and white' santa (within the sort we now realize and love him) was once created via a Boston printer named Louis Prang (the very identical guy who announced the giving of Christmas playing cards to the US) while in 1885 he issued a card presenting a crimson-ideal Santa. Since the us is liable of all matters proper i suppose he's going to be preserving the crimson go well with..........

Oh, God! That's the last thing I needed to know. Let's hope there aren't any who are working in the malls, whether it be Santa or any other capacity.

Santa needs to have a twinkle in his eye because he loves Christmas, not because...well, you can figure it out...

Whenever I see little kids setting on Santa's Lap, I pray that it's not Bill Clinton.
