Theodicy is the branch of theology that defends God's goodness and justice in the face of the existence of evil (dictionary.com).

Theology is the entire description of a particular religion's ideas about God.

Theodicy s a branch of Theology that attempts to reconcile the existence of evil in the world with the presence of a loving God.
