Speak to brother or not?

My brother and I are a 11 years apart in age we are not close at all because of our parents now that our patents are ded and I did not go to eather parent's fuenarul last timed I called him was to see if he was still alive after 9/11 should I call and what do I say He did get everthing and I was out on the streets without knowing that do I bring that up at all and yes I could use some help now or do I waite?

i think that you should call him because that is your family since your parents died. And just calmly talk to him and ask him why he didnt offer you a place to stay but if its going to bring tension between y'all i wouldn't bring it up. he probably scared to talk to you because you might still be upset with him and hes probably waitin for u to make the first move. Just begin the conversation with how are u doing, what have u been up to and carry it from there. And if the conversation is short just call him more and more and just say hey or maybe ask his advice on something and that should help the relationship build.

It's a real shame that both of your parents have passed away. Often parents assist in holding the family unit together. You still sound young for been separated from your brother for 11 years.
I would go for it and be the Man by making first contact. I think you have nothing to loose and everything to gain by contacting your brother. You could write a letter of apology to him in regards to the funerals. It might help patch up some bad feelings between you both. Or invite him over to your house for afternoon tea or dinner, that way you could have a long talk.

I couldn't imagine how sad it would be too not keep in contact with my family. We always have extended family get-togethers for birthdays and now that Christmas is approaching we will have a huge lunch together to celebrate on the 25th of December. I have 21 1st cousins, so you can imagine how exciting our present opening time is. Most of them as still little kids and they love climbing all over me and stuff.

I only have one sister and we are not as close as we used to be because I moved out of home. Still we talk on the phone and meet up at least once a week.

If you want to call your brother ...because you want him to give you something...no...the only thing you will get is an argument and more space. If you want to call your brother because you care about him....with no strings attached, call him, but be prepared for a cold responce. Why would you not go to either of your parents funerals? Sounds like you have a lot to work threw...good luck

Look it sounds like for what ever reason you were estranged form your parednts. Surely you can not blame your sibling for receiving what he did. The issue is are you contacting for love and affection or money. From what you wrote it sounds like money. Butt he big question I have is if you were on the streets how are you on the internet?

if you connect wanting money you will never connect emotionally. your brother won't trust you and he will be very very hurt.

far more important to connect emotionally.

get financial help elsewhere. if your parents hurt your relationship, then what they did with the money was their fault, not his.

i feel bad that your life was such crap.....but family is family.....and if you can, start a relationship w/ your brother. start your life over, make it right. life doesn't have to this hard, and having people around will help......i hope and pray, that your life is better now...........Godbless
