I mean, I never can find any hard core proof
And the bible is just a book, there is no proof there, because then I could go saying Harry Potter is real because he's in a book!

If everything has to have a creator, like you, me, the earth... then who was gods creator? you say he was always there, but then why couldn't the earth have always been here? plus, there has been a theory that certain gases can combine to become a life form, so why can't that be true.

Also, some of the things in the bible are just as unbelievable as the things in Harry Potter, so yea, I think the 2 books can be compared

You can come and see me, touch me, hear me talk, and hurt me with weapons. I'm proven to be alive by those who surround me and because if I wasn't alive, who would be typing this?

There is no objective evidence of God's existance. At least not in any form that would satisfy the scientific method. But I think we need to approach the existance of God in another way, something similiar to the way that we might approach seeking evidence for say, dark matter.

We don't know what dark matter is because we haven't seen it. But we know that there's something out there that creates a certain effect in the universe, and we call it dark matter. But what is it? No one knows.

God's existance is really a matter of what is most likely, or least likely. If we look closely at all the constituents of life and the universe, just in terms of what science and philosophy are able to approach, then there are a number of markers that we can investigate, asking the question, "What is most likely responsible for this"?

There's work going on in the area of quantum mechanics (quantum physics) that gives us some interesting insight into consciousness and the role it plays in the physical universe.

If we apply mathematics in the form of statistical analysis to certain "random events" in nature, we're left with the realization that the odds of certain processes happening strictly on a random, or chance basis, is so incredibly small as to be non-existant.

If we thoroughly weigh the two alternate theories to do with the beginnings of life on Earth (biogenesis vs abiogenesis, or life from life vs life from non-life), apply modern biochemistry or Mathematical analysis to that... we again face some interesting insights into the question of a conscious Creator vs a dead universe.

I'm not going to tell you what you should or should not believe. All I'll say is that there's religious dogma and there's scientific dogma. Both are limited, both are invested in a particular worldview. Theology and philosophy ask pertinent and important questions and provide important insights, as does science and rationalism. Don't embrace one and reject the other. Rather utilize all the ways in which we, as human beings, are able to discern relevency, the nature of life and the relatedness of existance.

If we have an agenda going in, then we'll fulfill that agenda. But if we truly care about what's true, then we'll adapt our thinking and understanding to what we discover.

And please keep this in mind; if we think we've arrived, we have nowhere to go.

First, you have to define the term "God." The problem with most theists is that this term is a moving target.

In addition, because there is no evidence either for or against the existence of God, you cannot use deductive logic (a+b=c; therefore c-b=a). You can only reach a conclusion by inductive reasoning using the balance of evidence (90% of A is also B; C is B, so the chances are 90% that C is also A).

I will assert (and others may shoot this down) that the only RELEVANT definition of God states that he intervenes to circumvent natural laws.

If God circumvents natural laws, then it is impossible to understand natural laws. All scientific findings would have to include the stipulation, "it is also possible that these results are an act of God, a miracle, thereby making our research meaningless."

However, since we have been able to expand our knowledge of natural laws (evidenced by every appliance in your kitchen), the scientific method works in this discovery. And the likely conclusion is that God, at least the intervening kind, does not exist.

Additionally, if God is defined as all loving, all powerful, and all knowing, then it is impossible to explain suffering. Either God is not all loving (he acts sadistically), not all powerful (he cannot prevent suffering), or not all knowing (he created suffering by mistake because he didn't know the consequences of his actions).

If God is less than these and/or does not intervene in our existence, then he is either non-existent or irrelevant. The classic argument is that I cannot prove that a china teapot is orbiting the sun directly across from the earth's orbit. But while I cannot prove this is not true, the evidence against it is compelling.

The evidence against God is equally compelling, and while it is not possible to prove beyond any doubt, it makes more sense to live your life as if there were not God.

It is more compelling to me that humans have invented God to reflect the thoughts of the ruling powers in a particular time. Because humans are always looking for reasons, when none are found, it was the natural inclination to declare the cause to be "God" (or gods). As the faith grew, miracles and laws have been ascribed to this Divinity, and an orthodoxy grows up around it.

Successful religions over the long run also are accompanied by some level of economic well-being to the populace. Unsuccessful ones are seen as false because they don't lead to improved lives.

Now it seems unhelpful to believe in such superstition. The only matters that aid in our ongoing well being are work, location, health, sustenance, and pure, blind luck.

So, that's why I don't believe God exists.

Is there a Josh M? I mean I cant find any hard core proof. And Yahoo Answers is Just a cyber forum. I mean I can go saying that the WSIDR is real because someone post questions saying that's his name.

Here's the deal. I have never met you. I can listen to people who know you talk all day and still believe they are delusional. If you want to find out then why not ask whatever is out there to introduce themselves to you. Basically say Hiya GOD. I'm Josh M and I'd like to know you. Then wait and watch and buckle in because its going to be a wild ride.

May GOD richly bless you.

surely!!! It replaced into some thing extra formal, yet I used to study with Him in spite of the reason and when you consider that I kept ahead to my personal ambition and needs, even as He gave me avertisements I kept none and did my way going into further and extra trubles! Into an end, interior a deep depresion, He kept my life (!!!) the very second I left away of all my deep needs... There, empty coronary heart, i replaced into full of God's mild and Peace and Love - an entire New life, a sparkling body, a sparkling creative and prescient over the past and the destiny :) :) :) sure, he's my Saviour!!!

I believe with all of my heart that there is a God and I love Him oh so much. Don't know where I would be today without Him. Just keep looking.....He said..."Seek and ye shall find".
Guess there is just not enough time and space here for me to say all I would really want to but I will pray for you to find the proof that you need.

just as much you cannot prove there is a God; equally you cannot prove that there is No God...
The best way to answer that question is to employ the power of logic and sequential analysis.
Firstly...God = Deity = Supreme being that started all...if God did not create all that is around you, what hard-core proof is there that it all came into being from nothing via evolution?
Secondly...God is Spirit, thus if He exists, it is only Logical that he would speak to you in Spiritual means, you would hear His voice in your soul...So genuinely ask Him the question "God, if you exist, can you revele yourself to me?" But make sure you mean it (if infact you genuinely intended this Y!A question seeking the truth)
and see what happens...you can only try...If He answers you one way or another, then you have your answer...if He doesn't, then I suppose you would not have lost anything...

All the Best, and I pray that you find what you deaply seek...He is waiting for you to respond :-)
God Bless.

Harry potter has not been around for 2000 years either. Faith is something you have to find. You have heard of the leap of faith? Look at it like a eastern philosophy. Like Zen, kung fu. Christian means Christ like. Follow that like an eastern philosophy and see how you feel.
