I don't know, and I doubt that even Mark Foley or Anna Bligh know how to make him read their emails. But please read on, as I have some positive suggestions.

If you want to work for the Queensland premier Peter Beattie, you really have to learn how to spell. Spelling his name correctly would be a conspicuously good recovery from this posting, which you better believe he's already read and laughed at. You must be able to communicate effectively.

You ABSOLUTELY must know the difference between affect and effect, for example.

I don't say this to make fun of you; you've seen him and the way he operates. He's slick and self assured.

You should also know that, like all Aussie politicians, he doesn't give a wet dump about the realities of water wastage, even though his constituents suffer.

You'd probably do better contacting local commercial talkback radio, and if they ignore you, try the ABC. Do it in that order, as the ABC is more likely to pick up on a commercial story than vice versa. (IMHO - they're less 'precious' about exclusives)

Good luck. I hope for all our sakes that it's a good idea.
