No, not at all. Our marvelous planet earth will be here forever. What does the Bible teach us about the earth? These Scriptures will help you:
"One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever."--Ecclesiastes 1:4 (KJV)
"Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth."-- Psalm 119:90
"But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."--Psalm 37:11
"Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever."--Psalm 104:5
"For thus saith Jehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Jehovah; and there is none else. "--Isaiah 45:18 (ASV)
"The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah; But the earth hath he given to the children of men."-- Psalm 115:16 (ASV)
The "world " that will be destroyed, will be the world of ungodly people. God promises to destroy those who destroy the earth by their wars and pollution--"And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth."
Rev 11:18
Our earthly home is here to stay.

The second coming of Christ is the blessed hope of the church, the grand climax of the gospel. The Saviour's coming will be literal, personal, visible, and worldwide. When He returns, the righteous dead will be resurrected, and together with the righteous living will be glorified and taken to heaven, but the unrighteous will die. The almost complete fulfillment of most lines of prophecy, together with the present condition of the world, indicates that Christ's coming is imminent. The time of that event has not been revealed, and we are therefore exhorted to be ready at all times. (Titus 2:13; Heb. 9:28; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; Matt. 24:14; Rev. 1:7; Matt. 24:43, 44; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:51-54; 2 Thess. 1:7-10; 2:8; Rev. 14:14-20; 19:11-21; Matt. 24; Mark 13; Luke 21; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; 1 Thess. 5:1-6.)

that is the end of the Mayan calendar is all. My Christmas calendar ends Dec twenty fourth. no human being looks making a huge deal out of that for some reason? also the Mayans did not calculate bounce years. Had the international ended even as they envisioned it will be June 2011. And Dec 21 isn't the date. The Mayans did not provide a particular date. 21st has purely stuck on. i'm continually adverse to international ending panics people get. I protect the international received't end - and if it does, no that is ordinary to assert I informed you so. In my lifetime i have apparently survived 4 apocalypses. No, i'm not immortal. Apocolypse predictions are purely incorrect, something made enormous to promote products. virtually something may be made to make it sound apocalyptic. someone on YouTube reported Gangman kind will kill us all..? purely look ahead to growing up, having childrens and exhibiting them the movie "2012" and putting forward "I survived this" you'd be high-quality. except we are already lifeless, and then if so, heavens quite crap.

Eventually. Everything that began must end. However, that cold to colder to coldest sounds to me like the Norse end of the world.

Well nothing in the Bible can even begin to explain anything you asked, because it is nothing but a collection of old myths and legends. Therefore it has no ability to explain the end of the world scientifically.
But the world will of course end,our sun will go through many stages in it's life which will affect life on Earth, some of these may cause lifeforms to die out or be forced to adapt. Eventually our sun,a young star right now, will begin to burn itself out and when it goes it will take Earth and any little pathetic life forms on it with it. perhaps in 100 billion years a group of sentient beings will get to study the black hole that our sun has become and if we are lucky we will have advanced enough before it happened to send enough stuff out into space far enough to at least leave some memory of our existence. Although really if our sun collapses or supernovas taking us with it it's really no loss to the universe is it?

Quote the Bible. Where did you get that? The Bible is not a book of science but a book of history and prophesy. The word of God. The knowledge that you should know will be given to you, seek not what God will not let you know.

Everything comes to an end. Mankind will die out much sooner than the Earth will.
