Well thats exactly how i felt freshman year (and i still do somewhat a little this year too i am now a JR). Try and join clubs or a camp maybe a sport outside of school it would really boost your confidence. If you dont put yourself out there, every year its going to get harder and more * embarrassing* i would know. Start out slow but i do suggest some club camp thing. You can meet new people and become less shy. Email me if you wanna talk! <3 i went through this too! still am!

I love Deepak's answer. Find something you love to do and do it. If you feel there's nothing you love to do, make yourself go out and do some things you've never done before. Be peaceful and smile at people you don't know. Cheer someone up. Visiting sick children or the elderly may give you a sense of meaning. Good luck to you.

Try to help others. Listen to the sorrows of the desparate people / friends. Show love to the needy.
And most important - do not expect any return on doing the above. Do that with full heart content.
Set a goal that you help someone each day. All great people have dedicated most of their time to help others and love people. Follow their way. You will find many things to do and your life will be contended.

I was informed that my daily Bible-Torah reading was called positive re enforcement. Even Lamentation's is food for thought. My birth date is 1956. my medical records state I was exposed to TB 1952? Do not sweat other peoples small errors. Or determine to be an optimism and do not sweat anything. Sufficient for the day is the small stuff for that day. You can not change yesterday or tomorrow.Yesterday is gone and tomorrow ain't here yet. Live the moment and enjoy now that is all we are promised!

Bored?
Start breaking taboos. Most of them are useless anyway...
Life has no consequences, and supposed consequences within this life are only as important as you personally consider them to be (and that is quite controllable, with the right willpower).
The first thing to put aside if you really want to get an experience and do away with boredom...... is any cares for what random people think of you.
Try dressing up as a clown or mime... and dance about in the street trying to amuse people... not for money, but just for its own sake. If you don't feel like dancing then you could always just go about your regular routine in a clown costume or somesuch. I always find it endlessly amusing to get strange looks from people, and the occasional grin...
For added bonus points... sit on a bench somewhere quite busy.... bide your time for a while... and then suddenly scream out "BUTTPLUG!" at the top of your voice. Thats another one that is bound to be amusing... albeit in a rather awkward way. Consider it a challenge against your own nerve.
If you want to really turn it up a few notches though, try blurting out a racial slur really loudly in the street at nobody in particular... and count the looks of disgust with a grin. Just remember how pathetically programmed the people around you are by society, and freedom from those restrictions can make you feel better inside. And just remember if you yell out "n!gger!" and get attacked by a gang of angry folks-of-african-descent... Lao Tsu taught: "Prize calamities as your own body." ... That which doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, and death itself isn't such a bad thing either.
Fear of being outcast is just one limitation to get rid of. A far more important one is fear of death. I sometimes dance in the road for fun, though rarely for long since there are certain legal issues to be aware of, and I don't like to hold up traffic. Playing literal "frogger" with cars however can give quite a rush... at least for a city guy like me. In other places, climbing without safety equipment is another fun thing... though I'm talking more about trees and small cliff-faces rather than mountains. You're not going for long challenges so much as brief gratification here, and increasing the duration exponentially increases the probability of failure (which, while not something to fear, isn't exactly fun unless you're totally attuned to such things).
Aside from that... just use your imagination.
There are vast amounts of potential satisfaction to be derived from sources most normal people wouldn't even consider. Its all fine and well to find it "fun" to socialise in normal ways, but thats so painfully mundane, and only serves to further constrain you within the system.
