Lots of running every day along with tons of situps, pushups and rope work. Get into good shape and find a trainer, a good one. You don't have to wait until 16 to start boxing. You must be 16 to enter a golden gloves tournament but you can still fight at any age. I started when I was 8. The most important thing is stay in shape and learn the fundamentals and expand from that. Don't get started into any bad habits as these are very hard to break when it comes to boxing.

the best advice I can give you is to make sure youre ready for instrcution, meaning start building your endurance now, run daily and do basic calestinics such as push ups ans sit ups every day ...do as many as you can do... you want to run about a mile a day, 5 days a week.
titel boxing has some tapes by kenny weldon, who was a great boxer and coach coach. called you can learn to box, these are a great introduction to the correct way to punch. That is the best advice for a beginner.
as you adviance youll learn tips such as degrees and angles, as well as power punching, but you have to develop the techniques first.
and not to dis-credit anything that anyone writes here, but some of what Ive read isn't entirely correct. for example, turning your knuckles over is how you should deliver a jab or cross, and a close hook, but not a long hook or other punches.... and while getting a bag will help you with training, not knowing how to hit it will hurt you more than it will help, developing bad habits are worse then waiting to develop the right ones.
The biggest decision that you will make is who your coach is, If I were you ( and I was 11 years ago) i would start shopping for one now. go ot the gym, ask around, see how the trainers train... and when your ready to train you already know who your going to go with....do your foundation things like running and calestenics faithfully daily and you will have a huge advantage over other poeple.
good luck ,.
