Keep some marbles in the freezer. when they don't wake up roll them under the covers. The marbles always go to the lowest point in the bed and snuggle their cold goodness right up to them. That's pretty effective and you just refreeze the marbles.

I have to say it does sound funny and the visual it gives it a good one, but I don't think it is something that should be used too often as i am sure it woudn't be good for them.
Depending on their age I would say maybe putting them to bed half hour earlier each night that they don't get up properly that morning. Like a punishment, you don't get up for school bed time moves forward. Each time!
If they are too old for this I would leave it on their shoulders to get up and make sure the teachers knew it was the kids that are causing the problem and not yourself.
If they are old enough i say rip the bedclothes off them and play loud music or if you have a dog let the dog jump on them :) Works with my son .

You do what you have to do I guess, although I would think that being a little more strict with them and actually giving the punishments would work better. You could always try a blow horn, a glass of water or literally dragging them out of their bed. If I were you, every day that they slept in longer than they were supposed to, I would take something away from them. Eventually they would want to get up in fear of losing the things they like most.

There is a better way. Put yourself in their place and how would you feel. Equate your home to your work environment. If your boss did to you what you do to your kids how long would you work there?
From your question I gather that your kids do not respect you as an authority figure. You need to take a deep look at why your kids do not respond to your authority and correct it. if they do not respect your authority they will have trouble respecting ANY authority. I hope the best for you.

Absolutely horrific. You must be joking.
I think you need to develop a different and much kinder method of waking them up. How about something more pleasant like a kiss on the forehead and wake up, rise and shine message as you walk past their rooms.

Don't you mean getting your kids up FOR school?
How do they feel about being woken up with that stuff? Do they find it funny?

Yeah, that's really mean, especially if you think its funny. I'd hate my parents if they'd ever done that to me.
