I know I can't pack the razor in my carry-on luggage but will I be stopped if I carry razors in my check-in luggage?

You can take safety razors (blade in a cartridge) in either carry on or checked luggage in the US. Other razor-type blades can go in checked luggage. Here's the TSA site on permitted and prohibited articles: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

You can pack razors in your checked luggage. Check with the airline prior to packing, and they will tell you exactly what else cannot be carried aboard, and what is allowed in your checked in luggage.
