Baby the cat is jealous of you being close to me and she See's you as a threat. She just wants me all to herself and cos we spend a lot of time together snuggled on the sofa she doesn't want you spoiling that.
Lots of love your Fiance and Tiggs

She may just be really moody. My parents have a cat just like that and it doesn't mean she dislikes them... she's just really moody. One day she likes Mum and not Dad and vice versa and it's always Mum who feeds them. It can just be a question of her character.
One word of advice though is not to force it. Cats hate that. Just chill out and when you can cuddle her do but don't run after her about it. All that will happen is that she will feel your anxiety about it and get even more nervous.
Some cats are just a bit nutty. Doesn't make them any less lovable though.

It could be that you let your fiance dominate the cat's world, and did not really play that big a part. Get yourself some prawns and feed the cat. You'll be surprised how quickly the cat will cahnge its focus onto you!

This could have something to do with how you approach your cat. Cats don't like confident body language but prefer submissive gesture. One way of engaging your cat is by "kissing". This is done by looking at your cat from a safe distance and engaging its eyes. Do not stare as this is a threat gesture but rather blink often and slowly. You should find that your cat (if he/she likes you) will respond in kind. Then you can begin to build more confidence in your cat and hopefully he/she will recognise you as less of a threat.
Another way to engage your cat is simply to ignore it. When you don't look at it or try to coax it to you it will perceive you as less of threat. A cat will normally go to someone in a room who doesn't like cats because this person doesn't look at the cat and doesn't try to engage it. The cat sees this as submissive behaviour and so approaches them. That is a little irony for those who hate cats but true nonetheless.

Your use of English is a bit difficult to fully understand, but I get the impression that when you walk in the room she might want to play. My cat's favorite game is "catch me if you can".. He will run away, then wait for me to catch up. As soon as I almost have him, he runs to the other end and waits for me there. Maybe your cat wants to play

Cat's usually have one fav person... when we were kids my mums cats worshiped the ground she walked on, her No1 cat was called Sooty... Sooty would never come to us, it was all about mummy!!!
But, I once had a cat who was very timid, probably because her last owner was a bully... Try taking time to play with the cat, get her/him some toys, cats love to play, and maybe get some little snacks, rub their belly (if they like it, some dont lol) rub behind their ears, and just give the cat lots of fuss, he/she will come round :)

I had this when my cat was young, she was fine with my son and husband, but then all of a sudden she would only come to me. I am wondering how old your cat is now, is she old enough to be in season? has she been spayed? This was the reason for my cats strange behaviour, once she had been spayed she was fine.

Cats are independent. Dhe is not really afraid, she just wants to be left alone and hide sometimes. She comes to you when she wants. My cat is definitely not afraid of me, he sleeps between my feet and all, but sometimes he runs from me and hides under the sofa. Maybe it is a game also, I think he likes it when I chase him and he escapes. But he does want to be left alone under the sofa sometimes.
And don't get her declawed, if you love animals, this is pure amputation.

In my experience, cats go through phases of liking different people. They can be very moody.
A little chicken from the dinner plate might help matters.

cats love whoever feeds them, which in your case, i dont know who that is, but my cat does the same thing. One day she loves me, the next, she loves my brother. Sometimes they just want to be left alone. Give it time, and your cat will be back to normal in no time.
