Pork calls for a white wine, I recommend a Reisling. That is a good German wine.

A good Merlot works well with roast pig it has enough residual taste to compliment the pork. If you like a sweeter wine then try a good Pinot Grigio. I would suggest getting both and let your guests/family give the final say.

If it must be a table wine, than a dry Gerwurztraminer or white from Alsace would be the choice. But you'll find that this dish really calls for something a little stronger. Like Moutai (chinese liquor) If you can't get that, italian grappa would be a substitude.
