Drinking enough water is the best treatment for fluid retention. When the body gets less water,it perceives this a threat to survival and holds on to every drop.

Diuretics only offer a TEMPORARY solution. They force out water and the body perceives that too as a threat and the condition will return. The best way to get over water retention is to simply drink more water only then will stored water be released.

If you have a constant problem w/ this, reduce salt or drink even more water.
