sounds like a pretty amazing person.. my teacher told me today that during a political protest, an officer starting beating him. gandhi didnt actually retaliate. the officer then accidentally dropped his baton and gandhi merely picked it up and returned it to the man. apparently he chose not to fight back because he doesnt believe violence is the key to solve indifferences..

Others have already provided some good answers in praise of Gandhi.

I think Gandhi's non-violence strategy was successful because the British at the time wanted violent reprisals. When oppressing rulers have all the death-mongering tools, all they want further, is the masses to act violent to further justify the most ruthless blood bath the rulers bring onto the masses.

We can see the outcome of staged violence by US government to justify further brutalities.

Oh, he was a wonderful character. If he was alive for longer, there wouldn't have been India Pakistan and even Bangladesh, but India as one. I wish he lived longer to inspire people to use no violence, but act as one nation. And I wish we had more leaders like that around the world, such that there is peace. Peace be upon you.

He was a great freedom fighter that led India out to independence from British colonists. He must have a great personality to be able to unite a country with 1000+ faiths and religions.

Ghandi proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that citizens of a country, regardless of the government, control their own destiny.

The main reason we (the U.S.) have such a pro government structured media is to protect against that very phenomenon.

They want you to continue to believe "The government is here to help you". Non-violent civil disobedience WORKS, don't forget it... and don't be afraid to question authority.

unkowingly he has created PM family of INDIA.

SMT SONIA ie
Christan - Ms Antonio Maino of ITALY,
whom S/Late Shri Rajeev ie

[son of Indira = daughter of Shri Nehru (hindu)
+and wife of converted Gandhi from MUSLIM ( not real gandhi)]

married and finally GIFTED INDIA with

SHRI RAHUL, Smt PRIYANKA as the

BEST FUTURE PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA

HOW?

SMT SONIA is a white skin gentle lady.

By nature all BLACK SKIN POOR INDIANs
look only at white ( "white PHILIA") and feel them great.

This is true for all INDIAN and Probability for Rajeev also.

Therefore Smt SONIA (Ms Antonio Maino of ITALY) being a "WHITE-SIKIN-LADY from ITALY" is president of "BLACK SKIN CONGRESS"

and She (S capital because she is like a god in congress) will be PM of "BLACK-SKIN-INDIA-AS A WHOLE"

Now RAHUL, PRIYANKE being ideal mixture of all religions ie HINDU, MUSLIM, CHRISTAN, will be the representation of HOLLY GOD. INDIA shall be proud to be gifted with such rear of the rearest mixture and honour THEM PM and Sup. PM of INDIA
