On the train home I looked at an attractive girl for a bit (she was in the middle of something, not looking around). Then she glanced over and looked away immediately - I started to smile but didn't cos she turned away. But she looked again and I smiled. She returned the smile and that was that.
Does the double look mean anything? Was she just checking to see if I was looking at her?

Forget it, move on. This is like those people who put ads in the paper, "I saw you on the train, you looked up and smiled, and then the doors closed.... " Life is full of things like that and you are reading way more into it than you should.

no,there is nothing,dont get too deep about her look at U or that moment of time,take is casually,she looked at u suddenly coz mite b she caught u wile staring at her,or smiled,so she must hv got to know that u r noticing her,itz ver common,mostly people look each other & smile a bit in a train compartment.take it easy.

She was probably shocked to see someone actually smiling on the train then to smile at her wow. Most people are crabby.

usually if i bust someone looking at me, i look away straight away but then i look again to see if they are still looking and if they are i smile because its polite to do so, or i look back at them if they are attractive to me.
