I always heard it said that if you can't find something where it should be, look where it shouldn't. This is great advice when you have pets. The last thing that disappeared ended up being found in the dog's favorite sleeping spot.

Done this a million times and put things where I thought they were safe only to find that safe forgot where I put them. You can retrace your path but you need to relax and stop worring.
I found what helps is doing what I did that day repeating it helps lots. So when you get up tomorow do what you do word for word action for action and you should find it.
It will turn up in a stupid but safe place and you will then think of the logic behind it.
I hid my moms bank card the other day as I was going to the city and did not want to looses it so I put it away somewhere safe do you think I could find it no! So I just sat down and thought about what and where I was in the house at the time and bingo I was putting my make up on to go out I had put it in my make up bag why? I thought at the time when I take her shopping Friday I will need it so I had put it there as I will put make up on before I go and fetch her stupid but logic.
I hope you find it.

Your question doesn't need to be where did I put my necklace but rather what would be a safe place to put it if I'm about to take the dog for a walk.

Try to get back into the mindset you were in that day.

Were you rushed? Is it in the back, up high on a shelf right by the door or where the dog leash was? We tend to look down when looking for something but when we think of someplace safe, we think of higher and hidden places.

Okay this happens to me all the while. What you should do is eliminate all possiblities. Starting with the local places where you would'nt think of looking. Cos you obviously put it somewhere where you cant recall being. If that does work, trace your steps, not from start to finish but in reverse. That way you wont get side tracked and jump ahead and overlook anything.

Hope this helps...

least u took it off before u went out. you know that much and so you know its in the house somewhere. i know its hard but try not to think about it for a day or two. all this stressing will make u ill (as u have said you're feeling sick). you might find ('cos this happens to me) when you stop concentrating on it so hard that all of a sudden it'll just pop back in to your mind where u left it.
good luck.

Looks like you'll have to do the whole day from the time you got up. Good luck.

Just pick a spot you do remember and work from there. You should come full circle.
