Too easy. The bad side to immortality is wathcing generation after generation of the people you care about die. Friends, family, children and on down the line. Eventually you would go mad with grief. Unless you already are mad with grief....then you would begin to cut a swath of destruction until you either were the last living human, or had taken over first the world, then the universe....

Overpopulation would be a bad side and, in turn, that would create other serious problems. Would immortality guarantee perfect health conditions? Would our bodies age slower or stop aging at adulthood?
What about the existing social and economical conditions of the world? Poverty, hunger, criminality rates, food and water supply, environmental pollution, unemployment, public transportation, housing, social security, etc.? Would they follow humanity thru its immortality?
I say, enjoy life as much as you can, while you can. Make your best effort to help others as you go on with your life. Strive to make the world a better place for all (present and future inhabitants). Be happy!

So far I haven't found one myself, well that's not entirely true; there is the dieing off every seventy or eighty years of everyone I Love. So far this has only happened five times to me so it's something that I don't have to deal with all the time and I am getting more used to it each time it happens. The longer I'm around the more concerned I am of natural disasters and being maimed. Some of the injuries I've sustained over the past several centuries are really chronically painful too. That's about it, otherwise it's interesting and I've a great first hand knowledge of history. The good old days is B.S., it's way better now let me tell You that!! Take care.

We don't have to worry about it because if you are human, you are not immortal. We die. We are buried and return to dust and that is the end of it. Immortality would not be a blessing, but a curse.

I don't see one.
Everyone keeps saying the sadness you would go through not able to stick around with one person or loved ones whatever....but honestly, I would want to see the changes the future would offer and the preservation of history just one person could offer.
If I had the chance I would be Dr. Who.
