What I mean to say is that in order to be hurt by someone you have to care about that persons opinion. dont you and the worst betrayal is by the ones that you love.

I think that is the case sometimes.

But I saw that comment about someone murdering your child.
Yeah, I agree that THAT would be true hate... without loving that murderer first....

Anyways, I noticed that some people are just so in love with someone else and then when they break-up, they just show so much hate for each other. I think to myself "Wow. How could you hate someone so much after being so close to them?"

Nah....never loved a paedophile, or rapist!

The only people I truely love are my family and can never imagine truley hating them;o]

I guess it depends on what the person has done. Your ex? must have hurt you pretty bad if you feel hate, so if you loved them once then....yes!

not even close... Real Love is to be selfless, to work for another person or people's happiness, without putting yourself before them... how on earth could you ever hate someone if you love them, since actual love is selfless, and hate is ultimately the most selfish thing someone can do... the only reason someone will act in anger is if they're defending something that they're attached to, or attacking something that might be a threat to their own ideas...

But if you truly love someone, no matter how they act, you will never hate them... Hitler or Saddam are two examples... I love them, but not their actions.. I wish for their happiness, but if i result in anger and hate, I will become become who they are, which is completely the opposite of what we mean to do.. Its completely ignorant to hate...

Inside every being is the wish for happiness, and the wish not to have unhappiness... Saddam and Hitler are like everyone else in the world, except they acted in ways which were way more extreme, but their mind is the same as everyone elses... love the person, not their actions, and support their positives... This is love vs hate...

If you hate the man who killed your friend, its not because you loved your friend, its because of your attachment to your friend.. When you cry, hate, desire them not to be dead, it is because in a sense, you wish to possess or own them, in order to please your self, make you feel less lonely, this is attachment... hate is the natural response of one who is ignorant, his awareness of himself is minuscule, very little, since his ability to react is limited and prone to violence.... This is hate...

No, not true! I hated my 1st love but I didn't love him alot. I just hated him for choosing my best friend who is not as good as me! And cooking up fake stories about me to tell many of friends and made them left me. I just hated him who doesn't behave like a gentleman. Since it's over, that's no need to badmouth about a person. Once it's over, just let it be. I didn't badmouth about him either!

Don't agree with this at all. There are some people you just hate on sight and can't take to. Its not often your first impression is wrong. I agree with you "She" you make a good point.

utter crap...say that to all the parents whose kids have been abused or worse still taken and murdered or the women who have been raped...i could go on but im fairly sure you get my point...im about as philosophical as it gets with emotions, but i do not agree here...there are certain circumstances in which you can aboslutely hate a complete stranger...and the above are just some ...

Mmmm...interesting but flawed.....I dont think you could get a racist or a homophobe to admit to that one....that would f***k with their minds too much.......I think you might be onto something here!
