Is eating a pot of chili (made with one pound of ground beef, tomato juice, tomato sauce, peeled diced tomatoes, and the usual spices) once a day really bad for you?

It would seem that you are getting alot of good vitamins and anti-oxidants from the tomato products?

No, chili is not bad for you.

I use red beans and pinto beans in my chili, along with all the diced tomatoes, and ground beef, and onions and everything. It's really good for you, good fiber, good protein, tomatoes are a good source of lycopene and b vitamins.

You can use ground turkey and make it less fat, but I see nothing wrong with using pure ground beef, or even buffalo meat, or beef-alo meat.

The more protein in food the faster it goes bad. Meat has a lot of protein so it goes bad fast. At Wal-Mart, if the chicken or other hot food is under 140 degrees it is thrown away no matter how long ago it was made. And if cold food gets to be over 40 degrees it is thrown away.

if the advantage of eating chili, in terms of nutrients intake, is because of the tomatoes it contains, then the value is not in the chilli, solely in the tomatoes.. then why do you want to eat it every single day??

No...I would think it's good for you! Although the spices all the time might give you heart burn or acid reflux.

Its bad.

Spicy food can make your sweat stink, farts more stinky and can make you hemorrhagic. Avoid eating the seeds inside the chili as it doesn't get digested easily and gets deposited in your liver. making stones. as much as possible. minimize spicy, salty, fatty food.

:D
