Microsoft recently announced its new OS as Windows Vista. Is it really worth upgrading XP to Vista for Home PCs?

I would not recommend immediately jumping over to Vista. I would wait for the bugs in Vista to be fixed before switching over. There definitely must be some improvement over XP, I am sure of that.

While I agree that Vista might be overall as good or better than XP, currently it is ridden with Bugs. I would recommend wait a year or a little more till Microsoft releases the SP1 (Service Pack 1) for Vista and then jump on to it, coz hopefully most of the frequently encountered bugs would be resolved by then.

Personally I didnt find anything extra in vista, but you can give it a shot.......I switched back to xp .

There is a lot of changes that you find in vista - graphics esp, still need to get used to it...there is a lot of variance in how things are done in windows when compared to vista.........believe me xp is very user friendly than vista..................if you have atleast 3 Ghz dual core processor and 1Gb ram then think of vista.

My 2.8 Ghz processor and 512 Mb ram couldn't handle vista.

No!...at least not yet. Vista is still in development and everyone that I know of thus far who were brave enough to try it had system crashes. The wise user waits and watches the mistakes of others. Hehehehe!

Not now...As with all Windows productions...there's always that frst 1 yr period...when errors rule!! so, unless you really need Vista or unless u have a very fast computer...dont bother changing..
