As to having a GED only for alot of them . Now that some are getting over their drug addictions or what ever problems they had to get into my group and have only gotten their GED. So now that they have that can they do anything in the way of jobs with it? I mean like lawyers , doctors or anything ok? Thanks

I'll start with paraphrasing comedian Chris Rock: GED, Good Enough Degree. IMO ANY degree, GED, High School , Master's, states that the individual met the requirements. It certifies that person has conformed to measurements. In order to continue education, any individual would need to enroll in college. Without taking SAT or ACT, they could go to a community college and get an Associates Degree
It is important to have some diploma. Even if you were hiring people to dry cars at a car wash at minimum wage, all other things being equal, I would chose people with a GED over high school drop outs. The GED shows some discipline and ability to take directions.
On another note. Want to have fun at group? ask the former drug users 'How many grams are in a Kilo?'

Well, a GED will get you into college, and you can only go up from there.

Well if their drug problems have caused them to be arrested and charged with felonies it is most unlikely they with become doctors or lawyers. If it is not felonies they would still have to go on to school to receive a degree.
