That's quite a generalization. I have friends of many different faiths, including plenty of non-Christians. Lots of atheists, too. I don't win friends by behaving like a condescending jerk. I don't force my Catholic faith on anyone. If they choose to believe, that's great; if they don't, that's their business. At any rate, I'm not quite sure how that warrants a charge of being condescending. And people from many different groups can be condescending. It's not confined to Christians alone.

Some people are condescending because it makes them feel superior and by itself it is a masterbation of the ego that makes people feel good. it is also a power trip to be superior to others. But even jesus descended below all things and if Mel Gibson was correct in his interpretation of Jesus being flogged, it was not an easy thing to truly submit to the will of God the Father. Most christians dont understand humulity and most non christians think it is insanity to do so.

To generalize the mass amount of Christians into one category is hardly fair...and no it's not one of the Ten Commandments. Christians are not perfect, anyone who says they are, are not true Christians. I am sorry if your general experience with people who love Christ and strive to be more like him have hurt you. And here is a general rule of thumb for you in the future, people who like to profess to be Christians, rarely are true Christians. True Christians are the ones that let their actions speak and show a quiet love for all of humanity.

Many Christians think they have the only true answer and the rest of us just don't get it. So be patient and live your life well and happy without the religion.

I think we are more patronizing then condecscending.... And yes, by patronizing I do mean we speak to people as if they may be mentally challenged seeing as in most cases this is very likely to be true.
