Salt Lake City

UFO conspiracy theorists probably won't be surprised to learn of evidence that an extraterrestrial object crashed at the US Air Force's top-secret "Area 51" in Nevada. But they may be disappointed to discover that the alien invader was a comet some 6 kilometres across, and that it hit the ground 367 million years ago.

Area 51 looms large in UFO mythology as the alleged nerve centre of the US military's research on aliens. Residents of Rachel, a small town nearby, have even named a local road the "Extraterrestrial Highway".

Charles Sandberg of the US Geological Survey in Menlo Park, California told the Geological Society of America's meeting in Salt Lake City that Rachel, the highway and Area 51 all lie in a comet impact zone. He has found grains of shocked quartz that are produced only in major impacts, and a layer rich in the metal iridium, also a signature of an impact.

Sandberg has been unable to explore much of the area because of security restrictions. But if his estimate for the crater's diameter—100 kilometres—is correct, it is among the largest known.

It is in Nevada, on the Groom Lake dry-lake bed. It was (is) used by the US military to test fly experimental aircaft.
It was picked for its remote location so that "black projects" under testing couldn't be splattered all over the headlines of some newspaper if something went wrong and the aircraft crashed....
It was the natural place for UFO buffs to beleive that alien craft were being stored.
One story states that almost every newly elected US President since 1947 has asked at least one of these questions;
"Who killed Kennedy/"
and
"What is at Area 51?"
None have ever been gven an answer. It seems even POTUS doesn't have a high enough security clearance.

People will laugh, but that just shows fear and immaturity, so I don't bother
any more.
I read about Area 51, and it must have put ime in some kind of telepathic touch, thinking about it before I fell asleep.
The next morning as I left for work. My eyes were immediately drawn to
three lights. I thought they were on a tower. Then I noticed they were moving.
By the time I got to Mickey Dees, it was right in front of me, about 1000 ft
up. It had three Big lights, not like a plane, and no beacon light. As I looked
at it, the lights WENT OUT!
I told my friend who gave me the book. The next day, he told me two of
his friends at work saw it too!

area-51 is not where all the 'things' happen or where all the 'stuff' is hidden. we all know about area-51 and where it is and what supposedly goes on there
the people in charge can't be that simple as to actually do their work there...can they?
