Hi, I'm in my 20s, I currently sleep in a twin bed and that's always been fine, but my mattress is getting old and there's a spring in it that keeps poking me so I'm going to replace it. Should I stick with a twin or go up to a full or even a queen? The thing is, I don't plan on having any guys sleeping in bed with me (that's just not how I was raised, so don't make fun ok) and I just figured that when I ever get married, I'd get a big bed with my husband. So, since I'm going to be the only one sleeping in my bed, should I go for a twin again? A full? Or a queen? I can't do a king size bed because my room isn't that big. It'd look ridiculously small. I'm really having a hard time figuring out what I should do because on the one hand, I don't need a bigger bed, but on the other hand, should I go ahead and get a twin even if I only use it for maybe another couple of years? Any ideas? Thanks.

hmm, you could go one of two ways. IF you are comfortable in a twin, then buy another one. If you get married, then you can use it as a guest bed. Or get the queen (a full really isn't worth the hassle), and sleep with more room. That's what I did. And again, it can always be used as a guest bed for a couple later on.

I'd go for the full. It will give you a little more room, but not take up too much space. You can always upgrade to a larger bed when you are at that stage in life. And if for some reason you were to get married and not able to buy a bed right away a double will suffice.
We are getting my oldest son a full this year, he is 17. He won't be having anyone sleeping in it either. But it will give a him a little more room and it will also be good for guests.
I remember going up to a full in high school and even though I was a size 3 it was nice to have some extra room.
I know there are even twins that have a lower bed that can pop up to make a larger bed if space is a real issue. The draw back is having to make it eachtime you have the lower part lowered and then raised.
With a full you will save enough over the queen to get a good quality mattress and that really is more important than size.

You should probably stick with the twin or move up to full. Queen takes up more room, costs more, not just the mattress, frame, sheets, quilts which you will have to spend money on to fit the new bed.
It's still your call, but if you're content, stay with the smaller mattress and less expense.

If I were you, I'd go up to a full sized bed. See, you said when you get married you'd get a huge bed for you and your husband so why get a Queen sized now when you'll be getting rid of it sometime in the future. Twin beds are way too tiny for my taste, so my advice is the full. Good luck.

I'd check my budget. If you move up to a double you have to buy all the linens again. If you have been happy in the single bed, get the same and save the bucks you would have to invest for sheets.

You should go with the queen, gives you an excuse to buy new bedding.....

"there's a spring in it that keeps poking me"
Place wood panel over present bedbase and research a replacement foam mattress.
