Liver failure. Tylenol is now one of the leading causes of liver failure and liver transplants.

Serotonin is a natural alternative to perscription sleep aids. Taking any sleep aid makes you dependent on it more and more as your body produces less and less serotonin(the brain chemical needed for sleep to occur). Get a little sun, sunlight creates melatonin, the chemical that controls body temp. Taking a 20 min walk in morning sun may just do the trick. Avoid fatty foods at dinner and skip sugary or fatty desserts before bed. A high-carb snack like bread or crackers will increase your production of serotonin, eat those things just before you go to sleep. Go to bed every night at the same time if you can and create a ritual to prepare your body for bed, do the same 2-3 things before bed in the same order. There are two herbs I would suggest but I'll need more information about your sleep problem, email me.

Tylenol is hard on your liver. I do not know what one a day would do, but it isn't anything good over the long run.
Here is a link to Tylenol's own warning:

The ingredient which makes you sleepy is diphenhydramine. That's benedryl, an antihistamine used for allergy relief. My suggestion is to take just the diphenhydramine, as a capsule or liquid. Here is info about it:

Probably low risk if you do not drink, or only drink occasionally.

Otherwise regular use of any sort of tylenol in combination with regular use of alcohol can cause significant liver damage.

Your body will become tolerant to it and it may not work for you, or you could become addicted to it. I take Advil p.m. probably like 3 nights a week because i have bad migraines and pain problems and it usually helps, but i try not to take it alot because i was addicted to sleep med's and it sucks trying to ween off of them and not be dependent to them.

One per night will never hurt you. As I recall, it is only a Tylenol plus Benadryl.

Tolerance and you will have to have more for the same effect, plus your body may begin not to even allow it to work in terms of resisting bacteria.

Good luck

Too much PM may mean you not wake in the AM.

There is a chance you could come dependent on it (addicted). Other possible side effect, although rare.. is liver damage.

Why would you do that in the first place? If you have trouble sleeping, talk to your dr about it and ask for something to help you.
