If you are attracted to that, sometimes the monk from that era will make his presence known to you. It's happened before to others. You just have to find out more about it, and find a place. "Many are called, but few are chosen" and all that jazz. Sounds like a calling to me. Even if but in a small way, you could make it yours. Forget about past lives. Everything happens at once.
