What are the most common expectations of seminarians regarding the priesthood?

Like for example, what is their vison of Priest Leadership.And in case their ideal vision is not met or realized after they become priests, do they feel anxiety or frustration and what is the correlatione between the level of expectation and the level of anxiety experienced by newly-ordained priests?

The typical slogan of the one I decided to join [SVD] was "...many are called but few are chosen..." Does that ring a bell?

Naturally, we all expected to be among the "chosen" ones from the get go. There were 35 of us --pre-teens and early teenagers-- in my group, in different grade levels of Classical High School. But, looking back now, I doubt very much if ANY one of us ever made it to Ordination.

I left after only two years with the Order of Societas Verbi Divini...

...And after decades of searching for the Truth, I've finally decided to leave the Roman Catholic Church as well, in favor of following the teachings of Yeshua Messiah as handed down by the Brotherhood of Essenes...

well, I don't think that there are alot of seminarians on YA right now to answer this. My brother went to a monastery for 3 months and came back skinnier than a rake. I think seminarians eat better than monks. However, I'm just guessing. But to hear my brother's friends talk, one of the big concerns they had was if they were to be married priests, they would have to be married first before entering the seminary. (They were pretty young, around 18 at the time.) I think one of them went to a seminary, but I don't know what his expectations were. Memorizing all that Greek and Latin I suppose. Having to sing High Mass every Sunday, maybe? Nobody mentioned hearing confessions, so I don't know about that.
