Well first try to check and see who it is through the peep hole or window without being noticed. If it is someone you don't wish to talk to then you have every right to ignore it. I have this one neighbor that constantly bugs me to borrow things and I have learned to just not answer the door because I don't want to encourage her to stop over too much. She is kind of senile and is the big gossip on the block... Best to avoid those kinds I always say...

Probably the best thing to do, once you've gotten a look at them through your door's peep-scope. I hate it when that happens. >< They haven't the character to get a real job, the pair to say who they are, or the brains to ring the bell.
