Question on Modern Satanism?

I have recently read the Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey, It was true, but i just got confused with somthing. If you dont belive that their is really a supernatural god, but that you are your own god, why do Satanists preform rituals. Is it a form of stress relief, or do satanist expect some kind of a result? If so what kind of result? And to the Christians, please do not post anything that does not anwer this question such as "dont go to Satanism" or "Satanists are retards" If you do so, your an idiot. I want a reasonable answer from a person that has complete understanding of Modern Satanism.

There are many different rituals available for the Satanist, however only three are outlined in the Satanic Bible, those being of lust, compassion, and destruction. Once you've poured out all of your emotion, by whatever means you choose, either by stomping, shouting, cursing, sticking pins, masturbating, intercourse, whatever .. of course you feel relieved. You have gone into your chamber and rid yourself of all the negative emotions (in the case of a destruction ritual) within you. You no longer carry this hatred around and have effectively relieved yourself of it's burden. Every Satanist is an individual, I couldn't answer for all as to whether or not they expect results, I do. "So it is done", and you forget about it. The magic(k) is nothing more than causing change to occur in conformity with one's will. Your results will depend largely upon the intensity and sincerity in which you have thrown your curse. You must have no regrets as there is no time table or telling of what will come to be.

It's quite clear, really, if you read the book. Let me lay it out for you:

In the Book of Lucifer, LaVey declares that not only has Satan been the projection of various aspects of mankind, but God also is just a tool used to dominate the weak-minded. This is why he encourages Satanists to invent their own gods - if you follow another's gods and ideas, you become their slave. At least in some small way, if not entirely.

So sit back and think about it for a bit. LaVey has enshrined selfishness as a Satanist's ideal, and observed one good way to enslave others. So what does he do next? He insists that every version of the Satanic bible have not a single word changed and then fills the book with chants and rituals.

Isn't it obvious? He is trying to enslave those who would be exposed to his ideas but are too weak-minded to resist his influence. And by his world-view, this is EXACTLY what he should do.

It's actually rather amusing in its tidiness. And we can see how well it's worked, too: current editions of his book ARE completely unchanged, and people DO chant his rituals. You have to give credit where it's due, neh?

confident! i'm the equivalent of a theistic Satanist, so i will admit, "To a Christian, I pay homage to devil's many mask. .........be your own god or be as god.......goes back to the Garden of Eden when Satan deceived Eve to disobey God by eating the forbidden fruit and by doing so she would be become as god. Same story, different time. Rituals are worship to Satan.

The thing that gets me is how people can believe in Satan, but not in a God... If you can't prove that God exists how can you prove that Satan exists... I see it this way, if you believe in Satan you have to believe there is a God too... Why would one exist without the other... For everyones sake I hope you choose to follow the right one...

well.. if you believe in satan, then you must believe in God!!

if Satanism ask you to believe in yourslef, that's Atheist..

however, if you believe that satan want you to believe in yourself, and no longer trust God, then that's encouraging you to turn your back away from God, then it's perfectly satanic..

well, for the rituals, maybe he just want to show off to God that God's people has turn away from God...

i don't know why it's so confusing, but satan is one confused fallen angels.. and he hates us humans...why don't you go and ask him(satan) what he means....
