Are you referring to people who enter after we have sealed the border? If so, those people should be deported and made to apply properly but the process of legalization should be made easier and shorter, people who are desperate to make a better life for themselves and their families cannot afford to wait 10 - 15 yrs for this to happen. Ive known families where the father has applied when the children are young and by the time their approval appt has come up the kids are now adults and they have been denied for this. Those beginning the application process from whatever country they are from should be allowed some type of work visa where they can come work for several months and then go back, they should have to renew this each year until their appt comes around to become permanent residents. So much can be done that can go in favor of both sides, but it seems that our gov doesnt know where to start so opts to do nothing at all.

People.. all people should have to apply for citizenship in the proper way. sneaking over the border is not proper.
Even if , as an illegal alien, you have lived a good life here in America, you are still illegal, and that makes you a criminal.. and that means you have not really lived a good life. Everyone must follow the same rule.. you must apply.

My issue is the word illegal. Why don't we let some of the murderers go and others we can keep. Illegal is illegal and it doesn't matter what crime they are commiting. The problem lies with the people who hire illegals. We should send every one home and let the ones who want to come back apply. Why should we feel sorry for a person who has been commiting this crime of tresspassing for a longer time than new tresspassors?

I've lived in Oklahoma & Texas. I never gave this subject a second thought until about 6 years ago. 3 Mexican families moved to the block that my parents live on. 1st) shot and killed his wife, & tried to kill the daughter. We later found out he was a gang member and while on drinking and druging all nite, thought his wife was cheating on him with one of his "brothers". The SWAT team set up in my parents home, since it was directly across the street, and there was a 8 hours stand off with the man. 2nd) in a 3 bedroom house there are 5 adults and 2 children. They play loud music on the patio to wee hours in the am, and there is never less than 6-8 vehicles parked in the street around their house. 3rd) 3 bedrooms, a married couple, the grandfather, a brother and 3 children. None of these neighbors speak english, so when you speak to them they just smile or turn and ignore you. The neighborhood is middle class and well maintanted, until the sun starts to set. Then you can't hear yourself think, carry on a civil conversation or get down the street for all the cars, coming and going all nite. It makes me very angry that they come to OUR country and don't speak english or have to abide by the same laws that apply to me and mine. Send them all back and let them come back legally.

1986 saw a blanket amnesty in which 3 million people got naturalized. Congress said they'd do a bunch of stuff to prevent future illegal immigration. Well, it never happened, which leads us to 2006, when there's some 12-20(estimate) million people in our country living and working illegally.
I'm against illegal immigration. I am also against amnesty. If amnesty is passed for this group, what happens 20 years from now, when 60 million people have decided that this round establishes an exploitable precedent for them?
The democrats have gained the majority in Congress. I really hope they wear their thinking caps when they go into session in January, and start dealing with this and other issues...or we'll end up wishing they had...

The one's who are already here, are working and self sufficient, no criminal record, should stay and receive amnesty.....But before we can do anything, we must seal the borders, preventing any more from coming in....
If they newly come in, then they should be deported.....I am for giving amnesty, only after they have proven to be a productive individual and have been here for years and have roots established......We just can't have people coming in willy nilly, because amnesty was granted to those illegals already here.....

Deport them all...
Seal the borders...
Legal immigrants only...
The USA is now a mature nation of 300 million people,
we are no longer a nation needing immigrants....
