I can wear regular tops without any problems - just not sweaters, be it acrylic or wool.

Most likely the wool belongs to a sheep you devoured. It's getting back at you, Wolfette.

Must be an allergy to acrylic & wool. Wool also makes me ich like crazy unless i wear a top underneath, but ok with acrylic i think. Actually I used to be allergic to my camper van seats, which was my only form of transport for a while, and that had acrylic seats. So maybe being allergic to both is't that rare.

You might be allergic to wool, acrylic, and other synthetic fibers.

Get a 100% cotton sweater and see if you can wear that without reacting and itching

Allergy to microfibers.
Wear a cotton body shirt beneath.
