Yes. Hell is not a place where we go eternally. It is a place to burn off bad karma. Human beings are responsible for their actions. Have not seen the movie, but people go to hell for one reason, rejecting God's Son the Lord Jesus Christ as their saviour. Not because they were bad or did good works simply because of their rejection of Christ. By not accepting Him you cannot go before God who is Holy because you are still in your sin. Accept Christ and He will remove your sins and make you clean and acceptable to God.
