There are 2 solutions. Flash has been turned off by a Microsoft update. My original solution, which worked really well, is to download Opera, and install Flash. There is now another solution on the Adobe website. There are not Adobe and Macromedia Flash players by the way. Adobe absorbed Macromedia, so you get the Macromedia player from Adobe. Read the following to uninstall Flash from IE (also Opera at the same time if you have it on your system).

Run the uninstall programme.
Then go here, download and re-install.

It works.

There are usually two different kinds of flash players and stall on an XP system. One is by Macromedia, the other one is by Adobe. Do a google search for both of these download and install the updates. PS while you're at it, you might wanna update your Java.
