No. This car model is notorious for problems. Expect a lot of "nickel and diming" with this vehicle. Be ready to replace belts, shocks, struts, transmission, fix power steering, have problems with heating and cooling systems.

If you want a good car in the same category get a Camry or a Accord. Ford uses half the number of spot welds then Toyota and Honda do which over time makes for a rougher ride and wear and tear on your suspension.

Another benefit of buying a Honda and Toyota is that they will hold their value better and you might have a chance of selling the car for a much higher price then a Ford after you're done with it.

The ford taurus is an incredibly dependable car. I have a ton of taurus owners who are disapointed that Ford has discontinued them as of 2007. I see many with 150,000+ miles on them.

There is very little that goes wrong with them if you drive them "with a brain" (as someone said)

At 50k, i would suggest that you get the brakes looked at, to make sure that the pads, rotors and drums are still good. Very few people service their brakes under 50k, and then the next owner gets stuck with them at the end of their life.

I had a Ford Taurus, but those cars seem to break down a lot since mine was an 86 with low milage on it. Research a dealership and get their opinion of cars that don't require so much maintenance and are reliable cars.

if you do you're lucky. they are 1 of the most towed cars for breakdowns along the road. that's with around 60k on them. it'll get to 150k but you'll have to do a lot of work to it.

if you do routine oil changes, proper tune ups and other required up keep with it you can get to 150k + out of it but you have to be on top of your up keep game. be smart and think it out
