Is feeling hungry is a good or bad thing? It could be a bad thing, because it means your body's not getting what it needs to function, I guess, but it could also be a good thing if you're trying to lose or maintain weight, right? Or wrong? Should a person ever feel hungry?

Feeling hungry is a good thing because very few people actually know what that feels like. We confuse hunger with cravings. Americans especially tend to eat often (or constantly).

We also tend to panic when we're hungry, as though if we don't eat in the next 5 minutes we'll perish.

Hunger is good. It doesn't mean we're going to die. It just means we'll appreciate our next meal that much more.

At the Kimkins Diet website my advice to members about whether it's true hunger or not is to ask yourself, "Would a bowl of broccoli (or other low cal veggie) sound just as good right now?" If the answer is "yes", then you're hungry -- have the broccoli.

you are right but have the right and wrongs reversed. It's a good thing because if you are like me you get too busy and forget to eat it reminds me to slow down.
Unfortunately, the stomach will stretch so that people who are very overweight are always hungry because the stomach thinks it's empty when in reality, it is too big to fill. So the problem continues for people like this.

Yes, but try eating fruits, vegetables, hard-boiled eggs, lean chicken, fish and cheese. If you really must have starch, try eating brown toast, Triscuits, whole-grain cereal, pasta and bagels.

it's just your bodys way of saying "hello i need some fuel" it's you need to put gas in your car for it to run, so food is "gas" for your body to keep it running. Listen to your body, it tells you what you need.
